TJHS Focus

The Tropical Journal of Health Sciences (TJHS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal committed to publishing scholarly works in all fields of health sciences and related disciplines. The journal is published quarterly by the College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin, Nigeria.

Editorial Independence and Integrity

TJHS maintains strict editorial independence. Editorial decisions are based solely on a manuscript’s academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope—without influence from institutional affiliation, nationality, or personal relationships.

Manuscript Eligibility

All manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.

Conference abstracts may be extended and submitted if substantially reworked and appropriately referenced.

Privacy and Data Use Policy

Personal data collected during manuscript submission (e.g., names, emails, institutional affiliations) will be used solely for editorial, indexing, and communication purposes.

TJHS does not disclose personal information to third parties for marketing or commercial purposes without explicit consent.

A declaration of ethical approval must be included in the manuscript, and documentation submitted upon request.

Informed consent must be obtained for all human subjects involved in research.

Research involving human participants, patients, or animals must have institutional ethical approval.

Plagiarism and Misconduct Policy

TJHS enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy on plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and other forms of research misconduct.

All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism.

Confirmed misconduct will result in rejection, retraction, and potential notification of the author’s institution.

Policy on Retraction and Errata

Retractions will be issued in cases of proven misconduct or fundamental errors.

Errata will be published for significant errors that may affect the interpretation of findings.
